Mothers Day Events

Easter Dining in Style

The arrival of spring proper signals one of the finest times in the year for foodies of all persuasions. Never one to rest on our laurels, our chefs are always looking to keep the menus fresh, with dishes to bring out the very best of the season. From succulent lamb to this month’s freshest catch from the coast, you can expect a new twist along with something you know and love on every visit to Northcote Manor. See our sample menus here.

Blooming Events

Blooming Great Days Out

With the lengthening days, the region’s gardens and outdoor attractions really come into their own at this time of the year. From Merlins to Barrett Brownings, North Devon alone has several dozen types of daffodil, to say nothing of the more exotic species to admire around the county.

RHS Rosemoor is especially splendid in March and April, with spring flower competitions and some exciting projects launched in 2017 to promote both wild and cultivated beauty. Click here for selected highlights.

Meanwhile, Clovelly Court Gardens and Hartland Abbey are always enchanting at this time of year, while Marwood Hill Garden reopens from Monday 20th March to reveal blossoms and spring blooms galore.

Exmoor Events

Excellent Exmoor Events

Should you prefer your days out a little more wild, Exmoor makes a more rugged destination for the spring. Not that there is any lack of events, as a busy calendar in the National Park demonstrates. There is a wide range of walks, workshops and talks, whether you fancy delving into hidden history or trying your hand at watercolour painting. See the Exmoor National Park Site for full listings.

Easter Breaks, Spring Crafts & Arlington Court

For families visiting in April, the Easter holidays bring a range of great outdoor events at the region’s best attractions. But the real pick of them for 2017 has to be National Trust property Arlington Court. Not only will you find the classic Easter egg hunt here, but special sessions from crafting to den building, along with the opportunity for guests of all ages to meet the new lambs and learn about their role on the estate from friendly experts on site.  Click here for further details of events and opening times for spring 2017.
