Here at Northcote Manor, we enjoy being right in the heart of the English countryside, complete with 20 acres of woodlands and lawn.
Although we’re tucked away in a peaceful spot away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we are still easily accessible by all modes of transport.
By car
Northcote Manor creates an atmosphere of total peace, tranquillity, and seclusion, but we’re actually very close to major cities and routes.

Unless you enjoy the scenic route, don’t use our postcode with your Sat Nav because it will take you via a long, complicated maze of country lanes. It’s much faster and easier to use the Portsmouth Arms station postcode (EX37 9ND), which will lead you to us via the A377 and take you straight to our main entrance.
Our main entrance is directly opposite the station.
By train
If you’re travelling by train, our nearest station is Portsmouth Arms which is directly opposite our main entrance.
Time to travel:
30 minutes from Umberleigh
1 hour 55 minutes from Exeter St. Davids
4 hours 10 minutes from London Paddington
We can also organise a taxi to pick you up from the train station, which will be charged accordingly.
Great Western Railway often offer a reduced rate on rail travel for delegates travelling for a conference, meeting, or event. You can check if you’re eligible and book tickets here.
By air
Our nearest airport is Exeter International Airport, which is a 45 minute drive from the hotel.
Bristol Airport is 1 hour 50 minutes away.
Both are very busy and well-connected airports, with local connections from London.
